Production Floor Manager - Springhill Farms
Springhill Farms is a wholly owned subsidiary of Hytek Ltd., engaged in the dressing and processing of hogs for both domestic and world markets. To reach and sustain its position as a premier supplier of quality food products it strives to employ talented and motivated people who are capable of reaching the cutting edge of their discipline. This position is based at the operations in the vibrant community of Neepawa, Manitoba which has a reputation for its beauty and high quality of life.
This position reports to the Cut Floor Manager and is responsible for the directing of cut floor activities in a highly productive plant, through a group of supervisors and lead hands. This responsibility will encompass all activities required to manage a cut floor operation with a through put of 3600 hogs per day and a commitment to quality and efficiency, which makes it a challenge best suited to the innovative manager and not the managing administrator.
The incumbent will bring 5 years of progressive plant floor management experience in a food processing operation. That experience will include the directing of a unionized work force, scheduling and executing daily production plans, coordination of operating management issues with other departments, the effective controlling, directing and development of the workforce and critical events resolution among others. This experience coupled with some post secondary education and on the floor meat packing experience will round out our ideal candidate’s profile.

Export Documentation Clerk - Springhill Farms

The Export Documentation Clerk will support and integrate into our existing team of competent logistics professionals who are charged with the documenting and processing of necessary paperwork to facilitate the shipping of our products to our customers both domestically and internationally.
To successfully meet this challenge the incumbent will require a high degree of involvement in business processes and complex, detailed work. They will understand the need for urgency in dealing with the customer’s demands while balancing the idiosyncrasies of the players who deliver those products on our behalf. These base requirements will be coupled with excellent communication skills and the ability to participate in a team environment or work independently as the need requires. Requisite conditions are the proficiency with MS Office coupled with the ability to adapt to other software applications as required. This position requires a degree of overtime and a shift schedule that commences on Tuesday and ends on Saturday evening.
Preference will be given to candidates with a background in shipping/logistics and an exposure to the handling of food products or other short life goods.

Truck Driver Needed
Hytek is seeking a highly motivated individual to assume the position of Truck Driver, in our Transport Division, based out of La Broquerie Manitoba.
The successful applicant must have a clean drivers abstract, a valid class 1 license with air, good communication skills and should be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Duties include safe and efficient delivery with a possibly of crossing the border. Preference will be given to the applicants with previous experience hauling livestock.
